The dismal box office response to his Aladin hasn’t deterred director Sujoy Ghosh. The maverick has bounced back with a film called Kahani. The film is set in Kolkata and stars Vidya Balan. Let’s hope Vidya manages to break the jinx and provides Sujoy with that much needed hit.

Vidya Balan is known for delivering power-packed performances in film after film. After Paa, Ishqiya andNo One Killed Jessica, Vidya will be next seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani.

Kahaani is a story of a pregnant woman who is on the look-out for her husband who’s gone missing. The film has been majorly shot in Kolkata. Sujoy Ghosh tweeted, “KAHAANI was shot in all real locations. No budget to build set. In Kolkata its totally impossible to shoot real but we did it:)”

It’s My Life (2012)

Its My Life Bollywood film directed by Anees Bazmee. It stars Harman Baweja, Genelia D’Souza and Nana Patekar in lead roles. It is a remake of the superhit Telugu film Bommarillu which was also remade in Tamil as Santosh Subramaniam.

It’s My Life is an upcoming Hindi film directed by Anees Bazmee. It stars Harman Baweja and Genelia D’Souza in lead roles. The movie is a remake of the successful Telugu movie Bommarillu^[1] which was already remade in several Indian languages. The film is set to release on 13 January 2012^[2].

PLOT

Rohit (Harman Baweja) the son of an over-protective businessman. Every decision of Rohit is made by his father, which leads him into frustration. He halfheartedly agrees to become engaged to a rich man’s daughter, but then falls for a middle-class man’s daughter called Natalie (Genelia D’souza). The film focuses on Rohit’s realization that he has to stand on his own and come out of his father’s protective shell – and try to succeed in love. Rohit also finally decides that he should speak to his father that for once he would like to do what his heart desires.

The Telugu film Bommarillu directed by debutant Bhaskar starring Genelia and Sidhardh was a super-duper hit. The same film is being remade in Hindi and titled It’s My Life.

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi are producing this film. Genelia plays the heroine’s role in Hindi also. She had been retained after her popularity for her performance in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na.

The hero of the film is Hurman Baweja. His first film was a flop and his second film Victory is just an average fare. Nana Patekar plays the role of the hero’s father. In Bommarillu this role has been played by Prakash Raj.
It’s My Life is being directed by Anees Bazmi.

Ek Deewana Tha Exclusive Trailer (2012) [1080p]

Pratiek arrived in Bollywood with a lot of fanfare in what was actually a glorified cameo in Abbas Tyrewala’s Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, but it has been downhill for Prateik ever since. Though he was pretty decent in Kiran Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghat, he faced a lot of criticism for his act in Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan. His last film, My Friend Pinto, also sank without a trace and now Prateik is banking on Gautham Vasudev Menon’s romantic musical, Ek Deewana Tha. It is a remake of Menon’s superhit Tamil film, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, and it also happens to be Prateik’s first solo hero film. The music for Ek Deewana Tha has been scored by AR Rahman and that itself should ensure a decent opening for the film that also stars Amy Jackson and Manu Rishi Chadha. The initial response to the promo has not been very encouraging – almost everyone who has seen the Tamil version says that Prateik doesn’t fit the part of a passionate lover who is also an aspiring filmmaker. Expectations are high, thanks to the fact that both the Tamil and Telugu versions of the movie have been huge hits. It also marks the comeback of Menon to Bollywood after a long time; remember the R Madhavan-Dia Mirza-starrer Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein? While it is too early in the day to make any judgements about the film itself, we wish all the best for Prateik and newbie Amy. Do watch the trailer and let us know if you like it.

The wait is over! Dharma Production has finally released the much awaited movie trailer of Agneepath at a LIVE event held today. Fans watched the release in large numbers it exclusively on the official YouTube channel of Dharma Productions. A star-studded event, fans who gathered in huge numbers were able to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars – Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Rishi Kapoor and producer Karan Johar attended the trailer launch.

Just before the first promo was released Karan Johar had to put some questions to rest and he had this to say about the movie, “There is so much curiosity about Agneepath, that’s why I have released this teaser so much in advance. I want to put the curiosity to rest and let people know that this Agneepath is not a remake. The look, feel and the treatment of the two films are completely different. The two films have a different world of their own. I would rather call my film ‘a homage’ to the classic directed by Mukul S Anand. The film was produced by my father and I think that it is one of the best films ever made. That is exactly why we chose to make another film, which might be called an apt tribute to the earlier film. The heart and soul remains the same — it’s still a similar struggle between the protagonist and the antagonist. But it is a totally different film. I feel it has turned out to be a very good and engaging film. It’s a film all of us at Dharma are emotional about. It may not have been a commercial success, but it is still one of Amit uncle’s (Amitabh Bachchan) most popular films. When Karan (Malhotra) expressed a desire to make his version, all of us were more than happy. I know my father would have liked it this way.”

Karan goes on to describing the promo, “In the teaser, you will see these four fantastic actors and superstars. You will also notice that this version of Agneepath has a different texture, a different tonality. It is a readapted and re-energised version that will take people by surprise. The original had an ethos that was closer to the time (the 90s). This one will obviously be contemporary. Karan has paid a tribute to my father and Mukul, and I’m happy to stand by his side.”

The 1990 version had Mr. Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan which will now be played by Hrithik Roshan. Sanjay Dutt on the other hand will performing the role of Kancha. The character played by Rishi Kapoor was not in the original script (1990). Even the love story between Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan bears no resemblance to the Madhavi-Amitabh on-screen jodi.

Agneepath is set to release on January 13th, 2012.
